William Ssekabembe replaces Katamba at DFCU in MD role
While he steered the bank into profitability in the initial years, Katamba has come under fire as the bank continued to register loses.
There has been a change effected by the Board of Directors of DFCU Bank following the resignation of Mathias Katamba who has been the Managing Director.
The Board has temporarily appointed William Ssekabembe as the Managing Director, according to sources. Ssekabembe has been Katamba’s deputy.
Katamba took over the top job at DFCU in January 2019. He took over from Juma Kisaame at a time the bank was facing court battles resulting from the takeover of Crane Bank.
While he steered the bank into profitability in the initial years, Katamba has come under fire as the bank continued to register losses.
This did not settle down well with the Board that thought it wise to part ways with Katamba by denying him a contract renewal.
