Youthful NUP aspirant Kibirige Kassim vows to champion Nakawa East development

At just 28 years old, Kibirige Kassim, a native of Mutungo Zone 4, Nakawa, has officially declared his intention to vie for a parliamentary seat representing Nakawa East Constituency in the upcoming general elections. Standing on the ticket of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Kassim is positioning himself as a fresh voice dedicated to addressing the pressing issues faced by his community.

A current student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management at Victoria University, Kassim emphasizes that his decision to enter the political arena stems from a deep-seated desire to serve. “I’m standing to serve my community, creating jobs, improving healthcare, improving the education sector, and improving the welfare of Nakawa East residents,” Kassim stated. He added, “I want to contribute to the development of our area and ensure our voices are heard in Parliament.”

Kassim’s affiliation with the National Unity Platform is central to his campaign. He proudly declared, “I’m a proud member of the National Unity Platform (NUP) because I believe in its mission to bring about meaningful change and hold our government accountable.” He elaborated on his alignment with the party’s core tenets: “NUP’s commitment to justice, equality, and good governance resonates deeply with me. I’m passionate about working towards a Uganda where every citizen’s voice is heard and their rights are respected. The struggle for change requires dedication and perseverance, and I’m honored to be part of this journey.”

While acknowledging the strengths of other political entities, Kassim firmly believes NUP’s track record and his personal values align best with the needs and aspirations of Nakawa East. “My vision aligns with NUP’s manifesto, and I’m willing to work with the party to achieve our goals,” he asserted, explaining his decision not to join another party.

When asked why he believes he is the most suitable candidate for the role, Kassim pointed to his intimate knowledge of the constituency. “I have a deep understanding of the community’s needs, and my leadership skills, combined with my education, make me a strong candidate,” he explained. He further pledged a commitment to ethical governance: “I’m committed to transparency, accountability, and working tirelessly for our constituency.”

Kassim envisions bringing a “deep understanding of local issues, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to advocating for policies that benefit our community and the nation” to Parliament. His legislative focus, he says, will be on initiatives promoting “economic growth, education, healthcare, and social welfare.”

Making a direct appeal to the voters of Nakawa East, Kassim emphasized his strong local roots. “I’m a true son of the soil, I understand our daily challenges, and I’m dedicated to making a real difference,” he passionately stated. His ultimate vision for the constituency is clear: “My vision is for a prosperous, united, and developed Nakawa East, where every resident has opportunities to thrive.”
