Rashtriya Raksha University of India to train Uganda Police officers

The initiative facilitated by Leela Foundation and the Tirupati family - Miraj Barot and Juhi Barot - brought together this collaborative effort.

On September 4, 2023, the Uganda Police Force and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in India officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a pivotal step in enhancing collaboration and coordination between the two esteemed institutions.

The event took place at the Police Headquarters, Naguru, and saw the representation of the Police by AIGP Golooba Godfrey, the Director of Human Resource Development while RRU had its Director, Manoj Bhatt. Also, present at the occasion was H.E Upender Singh Rawat, the India High Commissioner to Uganda.

Director Golooba emphasized the merit of this MoU, highlighting its substantial impact on the improvement of law enforcement in Uganda. He acknowledged the interconnectedness of professionalism and development, expressing appreciation for the cooperation and optimism for a strengthened relationship that would enhance the capacity of the force for the benefit of Ugandans.

Director RRU emphasized the flexibility of their programs, tailored to suit institutional needs and also proposed the establishment of a collaborative team from both sides to facilitate coordination between both institutions.

As part of this cooperation, India generously allocates over 100 slots to the Uganda Police, providing opportunities for advancement in various fields. This signifies a substantial step towards mutual growth and knowledge exchange between the two nations.
