In a powerful endorsement of youth entrepreneurship, the state minister for ICT and National Guidance Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugawo, praised the efforts of young Ugandans in driving business innovation at the 5th business Trendsetters Forum.

The minister, who was visibly impressed by the initiative spearheaded by Yvonne Mpanga, highlighted the importance of youth-led ventures in shaping Uganda’s economic future.

“It’s been very interesting, and I pray that I will be working with her from time to time because that is my life,” Minister Ssebugawo remarked.

She emphasized her commitment to supporting Mpanga’s efforts, not only within Uganda but also in expanding her influence beyond the country’s borders.

“I’ll be helping her make sure that this grows not only in Uganda but even outside of Uganda.”

The forum, which brought together young innovators and business minds, showcased a variety of creative projects that demonstrated the potential of Uganda’s youth to contribute to the economy.

The minister was particularly inspired by the determination and creativity of the young entrepreneurs, urging others to follow in their footsteps.

“We have seen a lot; young people are doing a lot of things which everybody should come and see,” she said.

“And of course, I want to encourage all the young ones to do the same, let them start their own businesses. Instead of looking for businesses, there’s a lot they can do to have a good living.”

Minister Ssebugawo’s message was clear: the key to a prosperous future lies in the hands of Uganda’s youth. She encouraged them to harness their talents and resources to build their own enterprises, rather than relying solely on traditional employment avenues.

“So, with this strength, I think people will learn a lot and will be encouraged to work hard and to use their brains and hands so that they can have a better life,” she noted.

In her concluding remarks, the minister commended the organizer Yvvone Mpanga and her family, for their dedication to the initiative and assured them of the ministry’s support.

“As a ministry, we are pleased to work with her and help her,” she affirmed, adding that young people should seize the opportunity to learn from the experts present at the forum.

“I do commend Yvonne for this wonderful one-to-one,” Minister Ssebugawo concluded, underscoring the potential of such initiatives to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs in Uganda and beyond.
