UNEB dismisses reports on PLE results release date

UNEB has urged the public to rely on official communication channels for accurate updates.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has debunked reports circulating on social media claiming that the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results will be released on Friday, January 17, 2025.

In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, UNEB clarified, “Our attention has been drawn to a fake message circulating on social media that the 2024 PLE results will be released on Friday, 17th January 2025. Kindly ignore and disregard it. An official date for the release will be communicated at the right time.”

Reliable sources from UNEB have confirmed that the release date will be announced soon. As is tradition, the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, is expected to preside over the official release ceremony.

When the results are eventually released, candidates will be able to access them via SMS using UNEB’s USSD code, through school examination centres on UNEB’s e-portal, and by collecting hard copies from UNEB offices in Ntinda.

Approximately 700,000 candidates sat for the PLE exams in November 2024. The eagerly awaited results will mark a critical step in the candidates’ transition to the next phase of their education as the new academic year begins in February 2025.

UNEB has urged the public to rely on official communication channels for accurate updates.
