Chameleone puts industry first, releases Lugogo venue for King Saha

The move is likely to be welcomed by industry players, as competition for major venues and concert dates in Kampala often sparks disputes among promoters and artists.

Ugandan music star Jose Chameleone has voluntarily relinquished his booking of the Lugogo Cricket Oval Stadium scheduled for December 4, 2026, paving the way for an event organized by Kings Love Entertainment.

In a letter issued under Leone Island Music Empire, Chameleone, whose real name is Joseph Mayanja, confirmed that he had released the venue despite having already secured and fully paid for it for his anticipated concert dubbed “Chameleone Unlimited.”

Addressed to Kings Love Entertainment and copied to the stadium management, the Uganda National Musicians Federation and the Uganda Police Force, the letter authorizes management of the Lugogo Cricket Oval Stadium to transfer the booking to the promoters.

“In the interest of the entertainment industry and allowing other stakeholders an opportunity to host their event, I have decided to make this date and venue available to Kings Love Entertainment,” Chameleone stated.

The move is likely to be welcomed by industry players, as competition for major venues and concert dates in Kampala often sparks disputes among promoters and artists.

Despite releasing the venue, Chameleone reassured fans that his highly anticipated “Chameleone Unlimited” concert remains on course. He said a new date for the event will be announced later.

“‘Chameleone Unlimited’ remains a priority and will be announced on a later date, Insha Allah,” the singer noted.

The development comes as fans continue to anticipate a major comeback concert from the Leone Island boss, one of Uganda’s most celebrated musicians whose career spans more than two decades and includes numerous regional hits.

In his message, Chameleone wished Kings Love Entertainment success with their planned event, expressing hope for “a good night of fun, full of success and happiness.”

The decision is being viewed by some industry observers as a gesture of cooperation and solidarity within Uganda’s entertainment sector, at a time when collaboration among artists, promoters and event organizers is increasingly being encouraged to grow the industry.
