Why Gen. Salim Saleh chose Dusman Okee as his new spokesperson
The appointment places Okee in charge of communicating the activities, programmes and positions of the Office of the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation.

The Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) and Senior Presidential Adviser on Defence and Security, Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, commonly known as Salim Saleh, has appointed former Pader Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Dusman Okee as his spokesperson.
The appointment places Okee in charge of communicating the activities, programmes and positions of the Office of the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation, an initiative that supports government efforts to improve household incomes through agriculture and enterprise development.
Okee brings years of experience in public administration and government service to the role.
He is widely known for his tenure as RDC of Pader District, where he oversaw the implementation of government programmes, coordinated security matters and engaged local communities on national development initiatives.
According to the appointment announcement, Okee’s selection reflects confidence in his experience, loyalty and communication skills, qualities considered essential for representing the office of the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation.

His extensive experience as an RDC is expected to strengthen public communication on OWC’s activities, facilitate engagement with stakeholders and enhance the dissemination of information on government wealth creation programmes.
Throughout his public service career, Okee has built a reputation as a disciplined government official and a committed advocate for the implementation of government policies.
He has also been recognised for promoting community engagement and supporting initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.
As spokesperson, Okee will serve as the official voice of Gen. Saleh’s office, communicating policy positions, responding to public inquiries and coordinating media engagement on Operation Wealth Creation activities.
Operation Wealth Creation is a government programme established to support socio-economic transformation by increasing household incomes through agriculture, value addition and enterprise development.
Okee’s appointment comes as the programme continues to expand its engagement with farmers, development partners and other stakeholders in implementing Uganda’s wealth creation agenda.
He succeeds into the role at a time when effective public communication is considered critical in highlighting the programme’s achievements and addressing public concerns regarding its implementation.
