Young Africans turn Allan Okello to deal into major transfer profit
The deal represents a $1.2 million increase on Yanga’s initial investment, making it a fivefold return in less than a year.

Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga) have turned Allan Okello’s signing into a major business success, with the Uganda Cranes star reportedly generating a huge return on investment in just seven months.
Yanga is said to have signed Okello from Vipers SC in January 2026 for around $300,000. The midfielder’s impressive performances have since increased his value, with his potential transfer to Moroccan giants AS FAR Rabat reportedly reaching a package worth $1.5 million.
The deal represents a $1.2 million increase on Yanga’s initial investment, making it a fivefold return in less than a year.
Okello justified the club’s faith in him despite joining midway through the season. He finished as Yanga’s leading league scorer with 14 goals, helping the club retain the Tanzanian Premier League title.
Although his current Transfermarkt valuation stands at around $578,300, Yanga has managed to negotiate a transfer package far above his estimated market value.
The Ugandan international’s rise has highlighted Yanga’s growing ability to identify talent, develop players, and secure profitable transfers while achieving success on the pitch.
