Has Kadaga’s book launch forced NBS to postpone UB40 feat Ali Campbell concert?
With just two days left for the much anticipated UB40 feat Ali Campbell concert organised by Next Media to happen, the show has been postponed until further notice.
The concert was supposed to happen on December 21, 2023 at Kololo Independence grounds just a day after 1st Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga will launch her book titled “The Path Way to Greatness” at the same venue.
“Delighted to announce that tomorrow afternoon, I will be launching my book “Pathway to Greatness” at Kololo air strip at 3:00pm,” she posted on her X account.
This only leaves a few hours between the launch and concert which may make preparations for the concert a bit hard with putting up a stage, set up among others.
Ali Alibahi, CEO Talent Africa revealed that they got news yesterday about Kadaga’s event,” having an event of our magnitude since we are working with big international brands there are certain things that they need. We need a certain amount of time to set up the production , all the experiences. We had also started the set up and we wanted to continue that set up until the event but unfortunately we are not able to work further,”
It should also be noted that UB40 ft Ali Campbell, The Original Wailers ft Al Anderson, and Trojan Sound System will be performing at the World Tennis League for this year’s sporting and entertainment event in Abu Dhabi in a special ‘Reggae Night’ concert on Saturday, December 23,2023.
“It is with sincere regret and disappointment that we announce the unexpected postponement of the UB40 featuring Ali Campbell concert,” Next Media Deputy CEO Joe Kigozi announced this afternoon.
He further stated that “the unexpected development has left us all disheartened and we extend our sincere apologies to our stakeholders, partners, and customers for any incontinence this may have caused.”
The new date will be communicated in due course however, Next Media says all tickets remain valid.
