Local Government Finance Commission begins orientation and induction exercise for new staff
The exercise brought together Commissioners and members of the Secretariat to equip new staff with knowledge about the institution and how they can effectively contribute to achieving its objectives.

The Local Government Finance Commission (LGFC) has started a two-day orientation and induction exercise for newly recruited members of staff aimed at strengthening their understanding of the Commission’s mandate, operations, and responsibilities
The exercise brought together Commissioners and members of the Secretariat to equip new staff with knowledge about the institution and how they can effectively contribute to achieving its objectives.
The programme covered key areas, including the Uganda Public Service Standing Orders, Public Service Values, and Code of Conduct, as well as the policy and legal framework guiding the Commission’s work.
Participants also engaged in presentations and discussions on LGFC’s major functions, including finance and administration, revenue, research, and policy.
LGFC officials said the induction provides an important foundation for new employees to understand their roles and appreciate the Commission’s contribution to fiscal decentralisation in Uganda.
The exercise is expected to enhance teamwork, professionalism, and effective service delivery as the Commission continues to execute its mandate.
