Ministry of Health, MTN Uganda partner to boost maternal and Child Health services
The Ministry of Health has partnered with MTN Uganda, UNFPA Uganda and other stakeholders to improve access to quality healthcare through the 21 Days of Y’ello Care 2026 campaign.

The Ministry of Health has partnered with MTN Uganda, UNFPA Uganda and other stakeholders to improve access to quality healthcare through the 21 Days of Y’ello Care 2026 campaign.
Under the theme “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community,” MTN Uganda will support the strengthening of maternal and child health services in four Health Centre IV facilities identified by the Ministry of Health after a technical assessment of priority needs and service gaps.
The beneficiary facilities are Kibiito Health Centre IV in Bunyangabu District, Maddu Health Centre IV in Gomba District, Kiyunga Health Centre IV in Luuka District, and Karita Health Centre IV in Amudat District.
The initiative aims to enhance healthcare delivery, particularly maternal and newborn services, as part of efforts to reduce preventable deaths and improve health outcomes across communities.
State Minister for Health in charge of Primary Health Care, Dr Charles Ayume, commended MTN Uganda for prioritising maternal and newborn health in this year’s campaign.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Health and the Government of Uganda, I commend MTN Uganda for choosing to focus this year’s campaign on maternal and newborn health, an area that remains central to our efforts to improve the wellbeing of families and communities across the country,” Dr Ayume said.
He noted that improving maternal and newborn care is key to building a stronger health system, adding that timely, quality and respectful care for mothers and newborns contributes to healthier families and communities.
The partnership forms part of broader efforts by government and development partners to promote equitable healthcare access and strengthen services at the primary healthcare level.
