“Marriage is for two people. Build your home on friendship and do not allow unnecessary interference,” Museveni told the couple.
The President also praised residents for embracing the government’s message on wealth creation, saying the area has great potential for commercial agriculture due to its natural resources.
He cited River Rwizi, which feeds Lake Kakyera, as an opportunity that can support irrigation and boost agricultural production in the region.
Museveni also paid tribute to the late freedom fighters Kaboyo and Kafureeka for their contribution to Uganda’s liberation struggle. He commended Alice for her efforts in raising her family and supporting the next generation.
He wished the couple God’s blessings as they begin their journey together, adding humorously that he would return to teach the Bevugi how to “Kwevuga.”
