Rev. Canon Prof. Grace Lubaale consecrated fourth Bishop of Busoga Diocese

During the service, Archbishop Kaziimba urged the new bishop to lead the Diocese by following the example of Jesus Christ and His apostles, emphasizing faithfulness, humility, and dedication to God’s people.

Rev. Canon Prof. Grace Lubaale has today been consecrated as the fourth Bishop of Busoga Diocese in a colourful ceremony held at Bugembe Playground in Jinja City, succeeding Rt. Rev. Paul Moses Samson Naimanhye, who retired after nine years of service to the Church.

The consecration service was led by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba, and was witnessed by thousands of Christians, clergy, and dignitaries from across the country.

During the service, Archbishop Kaziimba urged the new bishop to lead the Diocese by following the example of Jesus Christ and His apostles, emphasizing faithfulness, humility, and dedication to God’s people.

“Following the example of Christ and His apostles, I present Dr. Lubaale to you. We trust that the Holy Spirit has called him to lead faithfully,” Archbishop Kaziimba said.

While taking his oath before the clergy and congregation, Bishop Lubaale pledged to uphold the teachings of the Church of Uganda and to oppose all erroneous and unbiblical doctrines, including homosexuality, lesbianism, secularism, materialism, consumerism, and liberalism.

“I commit myself to showing mercy and compassion to the poor, the needy, strangers, and all who are destitute or helpless, serving faithfully in the spirit of Christ,” Bishop Lubaale said.

Vice President Jessica Alupo represented President Yoweri Museveni as the Chief Guest at the consecration ceremony.

Rev. Canon Prof. Grace Lubaale was elected as the fourth Bishop of Busoga Diocese in October by the House of Bishops sitting at Lweza Training and Conference Centre.
