Muhoozi warns ‘hooligans’ ahead of planned protests
I welcome them. My scissors have been missing balls to slice,” he wrote in the controversial statement that has since sparked reactions online.
Muhoozi Kainerugaba has issued a strongly worded warning to individuals he described as “hooligans” allegedly planning to stage unrest in the country.
In a social media post, Muhoozi said he had received information about groups intending to “try some games soon,” adding that he was ready to confront them.
“I welcome them. My scissors have been missing balls to slice,” he wrote in the controversial statement that has since sparked reactions online.
The remarks are likely to draw criticism from human rights activists and opposition supporters, who have previously accused security officials of using inflammatory language against dissenting voices.
Muhoozi, the Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, is known for his outspoken social media posts on political and security matters.
The statement comes amid heightened political tensions and speculation over possible demonstrations by opposition groups and activists over governance and economic concerns.
There was no immediate official response from security agencies regarding any planned protests or threats to public order.
