Goldstar Insurance revolutionizes claims with cutting-edge Mobile App
Developed with the client at its core, the Goldstar Claims App empowers customers to instantly report and manage insurance claims from anywhere, directly from their smartphone.

Goldstar Insurance Company Ltd has officially launched a groundbreaking mobile application designed to transform the insurance claims reporting and management process in Uganda.
The “Goldstar Claims App,” unveiled today in Kampala, marks a significant leap forward in the nation’s burgeoning insurance technology landscape, promising unprecedented speed, transparency, and user-friendliness for policyholders.
Developed with the client at its core, the Goldstar Claims App empowers customers to instantly report and manage insurance claims from anywhere, directly from their smartphone.
The intuitive platform allows users to register incidents, upload essential supporting documents, and receive real-time feedback on their claim status, eliminating traditional barriers to service.
“This launch is more than just about technology; it’s about trust, efficiency, and our promise to be there when our clients need us most,” stated Jay Sakaria, the Chief Actuary at Goldstar, during the launch event.
He emphasized that the app is meticulously built to cater to today’s dynamic client needs, ensuring it is easy to navigate, highly secure, and fully compliant with both local and international data security protocols.
Sakaria highlighted the app’s revolutionary convenience, noting, “Policyholders will no longer need to visit offices or fill in tedious paperwork to report incidents; they can do all that through the app.”
While acknowledging that the traditional walk-in option remains available, he underscored the app as a more viable and efficient solution in an increasingly digital world.
Further enhancing its utility, the Goldstar Claims App boasts advanced features such as geo-location support for precise incident mapping, offline functionality for users in low-data environments, and live document capture capabilities, allowing for the immediate upload of photos, videos, and audio.
Its built-in claims tracking tools provide instant alerts to both the insurer and brokers, ensuring a streamlined and responsive process from the moment an incident occurs.
John Kawuma, Goldstar’s CEO, articulated the app’s core mission: to simplify the most critical moment in a client’s insurance journey—when they have a claim.
“Instead of searching for contact numbers or walking to our offices in times of distress, clients can simply open the app, report a claim in real time, and be guided through the process step-by-step,” Kawuma explained.
He candidly pointed out that for many years, insurance processes in Uganda have been hampered by complexity, an issue Goldstar’s latest innovation directly addresses. “Our challenge has never been about products—we have plenty.
The issue has been accessibility and speed of service. This app directly tackles that,” Kawuma affirmed, positioning the app as a solution to long-standing industry pain points.
The app’s utility extends beyond individual policyholders to corporate clients. Enoch Mudadi, Goldstar’s Chief Operations Officer and Head of Risk, revealed that the Claims App is specifically designed to cater to corporate fleet clients and logistics operators.
“A driver can report a vehicle accident in real-time, attach photos and location, and the claim simultaneously notifies their fleet manager, insurance broker, and us at Goldstar. This responsiveness is revolutionary,” he stated.
Mudadi cited a recent factory fire successfully reported using the app as a testament to its potential for managing large-scale commercial incidents. “We are determined to deliver a service that cannot be imported, a truly Ugandan digital insurance experience,” Mudadi proudly affirmed.
The Goldstar Claims App is now readily available for download on both Android and iOS platforms. Its robust back-end integration automates alerts, standardizes report formats, and enables claim handlers to assess and assign adjustors more efficiently, promising a seamless experience for all stakeholders.
Established in 1996, Goldstar Insurance Co. Ltd is recognized as one of Uganda’s top-performing insurers, licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) to underwrite both life and general business.
