Labour export agencies of Uganda pat Saudi Arabia on the back as Arab nation celebrates Founding Day

The Association said that Uganda doesn't only send domestic workers to Saudi Arabia but also students, professionals, semi-skilled, casuals and domestic workers.

Labour externalization companies, the firms that deal with exporting labour to Saudi Arabia, are upbeat that the relationship they have cultivated with Saudi Arabia will continue to bear fruits in the years to come.

In a message to the people of Saudi Arabia, as they commemorate their Foundation Day, External Labour Agencies of Uganda (ELAU) notes that Saudi Arabia has provided employment to over 500, 000 Ugandans,

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince, may God protect them, has made great efforts in supporting the creation of employment opportunities for Ugandan youths thus reaping remarkable results in the promotion of economic development and their livelihood,” ELAU said in a message.

“We express our appreciation and sincerely hope that the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia will see new and greater achievements in the achievement of the 2030 vision of Saudi Arabia,” it added.

The Ugandan association said  Uganda doesn’t only send domestic workers to Saudi Arabia but also students, professionals, semi-skilled, casuals and domestic workers.

It is believed that Uganda received remittances ranging between $600M to $700M.

The Saudi  Foundation Day anniversary was announced by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz in 2022 and will be marked annually on February 22.

The day commemorates the Kingdom’s founding by Imam Mohammed bin Saud in February 1727. King Salman stressed that the occasion is a source of pride in the founding of the Saudi state that has consolidated the foundations of peace and stability.

The day is an occasion to celebrate the history of the state, harmony of its people, their steadfastness against all challenges and hopes for the future.
