Students of Plus Two High School Bushenyi have been praised for demonstrating courage, discipline, and commitment during their patriotism training pass-out ceremony held at the school playground in Nyakabirizi, Ishaka Municipality.
The Guest of Honour Commissioner Hellen at the ceremony commended the 1,167 students for their remarkable resilience after they remained standing throughout the event despite heavy rains that disrupted the ceremony grounds.
The students continued with the programme even as rainwater and drainage channels flowed through the field, a gesture described as a strong demonstration of determination, patriotism, and readiness to serve the country.
“This was a true display of patriotism — standing firm, remaining committed, and being ready to serve and sacrifice for the good of our country regardless of the circumstances,” the Guest of Honour said.
The Patriotism Calling programme brought the guest to Plus Two High School Bushenyi, where they were received by Susan Kyomugisha, the Inspector of Schools for Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipal Council, Headmistress Lynn Tumwebaze, and members of the school’s Board of Directors.
The students underwent a one-week patriotism training programme focused on national ideology, patriotism, responsible citizenship, leadership, and other areas aimed at promoting national development.
The training was conducted by different facilitators who engaged the learners in sessions designed to nurture responsible, disciplined, and patriotic citizens.
The ceremony celebrated the successful completion of the programme, with the students praised for embodying values of resilience, commitment, and service to the nation.
