Museveni appoints Juma Witonze Kisekka State Minister for Internal Affairs
Kisekka serves as the Patriotic League of Uganda's Greater Mpigi Coordinator and has been actively involved in political mobilisation within the ruling party.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed National Resistance Movement (NRM) mobiliser for Central Uganda, Hon. Juma Witonze Kisekka, as the new State Minister for Internal Affairs.
Kisekka, a seasoned NRM mobiliser and political organiser, joins the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of the President’s latest Cabinet appointments.
Before his appointment, Kisekka had expressed interest in representing Uganda in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) on the NRM ticket, although he was unsuccessful in securing the party’s nomination.
Following the announcement, the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) congratulated Kisekka on his appointment, describing it as a recognition of his dedication and service to the country.
In a statement, the organisation said the appointment was “well deserved” and reflected his commitment to national service.
“This well-deserved appointment is a testament to your dedication, commitment and exemplary service to our nation. We are confident that your leadership and experience will greatly contribute to strengthening the Internal Affairs sector and advancing Uganda’s development,” PLU said.
The league wished Kisekka success in his new role and prayed for wisdom, strength and good health as he assumes the national responsibility.
“We wish you success as you undertake this important national responsibility. May God grant you wisdom, strength and good health as you serve our country,” the statement added.
Kisekka serves as the Patriotic League of Uganda’s Greater Mpigi Coordinator and has been actively involved in political mobilisation within the ruling party.
His appointment comes as President Museveni continues to constitute his new Cabinet following the recent government reshuffle.
As State Minister for Internal Affairs, Kisekka will support the ministry in overseeing internal security, immigration, citizenship, national identification, and related public safety matters.
