Stanbic Bank donates medical equipment to Kisugu Health Center
According to the World Health Organization, more than 80% of deaths associated with pregnancy are preventable.
Stanbic Bank has donated 100 mama kits, a radiant warmer to Kisugu Health Centre III a clinic in Makindye Division, Kampala.
The Executive Head of Personal & Private Banking, Sam Mwogeza, said partnering with the health centre is a privilege.
“We know that many mothers in Uganda die while giving birth. The rates seem to have reduced but this allows us to stand with you and see the work that you are doing. We recognize it and we want to support it anyway,” he said.

Dr. Naula Rebecca Mpande, the Maternal and Child Health Incharge at the health facility, thanked the bank for the timely support. She said Stanbic has raised their Standard.
“KCCA has many facilities but someone asked why they chose Kisugu. We said that we also don’t know. I think the blessings are ours. God just gave them [Stanbic] to us. There are many banks in Uganda but we’ve never seen them come out to offer such support like Stanbic bank,” she said.
“In October last year, Stanbic first gave us 800 mama kits. The pregnant women who were present received them, and we’ve been giving them out. Kisugu has a community that is vulnerable. Most women are self-reliant, but when Stanbic comes out to care, that gives us happiness. Please, never stop,” she added.
The health centre offers general care services (Out-Patient Department), In-Patient, Antenatal, Maternity, Immunization, and Family Planning among others.
