UNEB to release 2024 PLE results on Thursday

Once released, the results will be accessible via SMS and through school examination centers. Hard copies will also be available for collection at UNEB offices in Ntinda.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) will release the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

The announcement was made Tuesday evening following a meeting at State House Nakasero, where UNEB officials briefed First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni on candidate performance.

UNEB confirmed the development through its official X account, stating that the event will be presided over by the First Lady and streamed live on major TV, radio, and UNEB online platforms.

Once released, the results will be accessible via SMS and through school examination centers. Hard copies will also be available for collection at UNEB offices in Ntinda.

According to UNEB, a total of 798,763 candidates sat the 2024 PLE examinations, with 419,357 females and 379,414 males. Among them were 3,295 Special Needs Education Candidates, of which 1,677 were females and 1,618 were males.

This marks the first release of the 2024 national exam results, with the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results to follow in the coming weeks.

Placement for PLE candidates is scheduled for January 27–28, 2025, with Senior One classes commencing on February 10, 2025. Senior Five placement for UCE candidates will take place on February 6–7, 2025, and they will report to schools on February 24, 2025.

Parents, guardians, and candidates can now prepare to celebrate the outcomes of their efforts in last year’s examinations.
