Kisoro district receives Shs17.8B Under PDM, reaches over 18,000 household

Another 61,899 households expected to benefit as the district deepens the money economy.

Kisoro District has received Shs17.8 billion under the Parish Development Model (PDM), with officials confirming 100% disbursement to 18,307 households across the district.

The funding marks one of Kisoro’s strongest PDM rollouts yet, with leaders noting that the next phase will target an additional 61,899 households as government pushes to transition more families from subsistence living into the money economy.

Authorities say the successful disbursement reflects improved coordination between parish SACCOs and district structures, with the funds expected to boost enterprise development and household income.

The PDM is currently the government’s flagship strategy for wealth creation at parish level, offering capital to support small-scale agricultural and business activities.
