Man Places Newspaper Advert Apologizing For Defamation Of Judiciary PS Pius Bigirimana In A Whatsapp Group Chat
It is not clear if Bagirimans is a member of the social media group but when he learnt of Haguma’s misdeeds, he sent him a notice to sue.
What looked like a little chi-chat in a WhatsApp group has turned out bizarrely for a one Robert Haguma. And now, circumstances have forced Haguma to issue a public apology in a national newspaper begging for mercy.
According to an advert in Wednesday’s New Vision newspaper, Haguma is apologizing for saying false, untrue and unfounded things about Pius Bigirimana, the Judiciary permanent secretary.
The contents for which Haguma is apologizing were posted in a WhatsApp group called For God and My County.
It is not clear if Bagirimans is a member of the social media group but when he learnt of Haguma’s misdeeds, he sent him a notice to sue.
“Due to my comment in For God and My Country WhatsApp group which was false, untrue and unfounded about Mr Pius Bigirimana and was read by Members of the group some of whom reacted with negative comments about him, I hereby state that comment was based on information that was circulating on social media,” Haguma states in the apology copied to Osh Advocates.
“After carefully reading the notice of intention to sue, I found out that the contents in the post were not true. I therefore tender in my sincere apology to the person of Mr Pius Bigirimana and retract the said post/comment. All inconveniences caused are highly regretted.” Haguma added.
