Lwengo man confesses to killing victims as police probe human remains discovery

A 35-year-old man from Lwengo District, identified as Kasakyi Muzafar, has confessed to killing and eating parts of his alleged victims, following the discovery of human remains near Kigeyi Village in Malongo Sub-county
Police recovered remains including a hand, skull, and cooked bones from the area, sparking fear among residents who are demanding a thorough investigation into the shocking incident.
Muzafar was arrested in neighbouring Sembabule District after reportedly fleeing the area. During police questioning, he allegedly admitted to killing a woman whom he intended to marry, as well as another victim identified as David.
The suspect’s children reportedly told police that their father frequently brought people to their home, where he would allegedly kill them and remove their heads.
Residents in Lwengo have expressed concern over the revelations, calling on security authorities to investigate the matter fully and ensure that all victims are identified.
Lwengo District Chairman linked the suspected acts to drug abuse, saying substance misuse could be among the factors contributing to such criminal behaviour.
Police said they are still examining the recovered remains as investigations continue. The suspect is expected to face charges of murder once investigations are completed.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm as they work to establish the full details surrounding the alleged killings.
