Victoria University to build new campus in Naguru
The Naguru campus is expected to further strengthen the university’s physical presence in the capital while providing additional space for its growing academic community.

Victoria University is set to expand its presence in Kampala with the construction of a new campus in Naguru, with works expected to begin this year, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Lawrence Muganga, has announced.
Dr Muganga made the announcement on Tuesday as he unveiled architectural impressions of the proposed campus, which will be located in Naguru, near Phaneroo.
The designs have attracted attention for their modern appearance, with some observers initially assuming they had been generated using artificial intelligence.
“At first glance, you might think someone got a little too creative with AI. But no, these are the actual design impressions of the upcoming Victoria University Kampala, Uganda, campus in the heart of Kampala, Naguru to be exact, close to Phaneroo,” Dr Muganga said.

He said he was excited about the project and looked forward to seeing the architectural concepts transformed into a functioning campus.
“Yes, this is happening, and I am excited to share that work begins this year,” he said. “We cannot wait to see these images become something you can actually walk into, experience, and call home. This one is going to be beautiful.”
The new campus is expected to provide students and staff with a new environment for learning, teaching and day-to-day interaction once construction is completed.
Dr Muganga described the development as an important milestone for the university and the wider Victoria University community.
The project comes as the university continues to position itself around innovation, practical learning and digitally enabled education.
Victoria University, based in Kampala, has increasingly promoted the use of technology and digital platforms in teaching and learning as part of its efforts to reshape how higher education is delivered in Uganda.
The Naguru campus is expected to further strengthen the university’s physical presence in the capital while providing additional space for its growing academic community.
