Micho upbeat ahead of DR Congo CHAN opener

Uganda Cranes coach, Milutin Sredojević alias Micho is optimistic the Uganda national football team will have a good tournament and improve on the previous results that the country has registered at the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Uganda, which has participated at CHAN before has been underperforming failing to go beyond the group stage and barely scoring goals.
“We have been here before and we are looking forward to turning results starting with the game against DR Congo,” Micho a pre-match press conference.
This year’s tournament that kicks off today is being hosted by Algeria. In the tournament opener, hosts Algeria will take on Libya.
Uganda will start the campaign against DR Congo on Saturday.
Micho who was coy to delve deep into the DR Congo encounter technicalities and game plan said ‘the best player of our team is actually our team.’
“We can’t discuss how much we know about DR Congo at this press conference but with the players when we strategize for the game due tomorrow,” Micho said.
Uganda Cranes arrived in the city of Annaba where it will be stationed on Wednesday evening and settled in well, according to a statement shared by the team media officer Ahmed Hussein.
“With the tournament getting underway on Friday, players and the technical staff are making the final preparations. Equally, for CAF, they are making final touches to have a memorable Championship,” Hussein said.
He added that on Thursday, the team had an orientation engagement with CAF officials covering aspects like match day operations, doping, laws of the game, communication, marketing, safety and security among others.
Later in the day, the team also conducted its first training session in Annaba at Stade Chabbou.
