Carrick confident Manchester United are stronger after transfer window

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick says the club has emerged from the transfer window as a stronger team, despite admitting the period was challenging.
Carrick believes the club made the most of the situation in a market where several Premier League rivals spent heavily. He said the new arrivals have improved the squad both individually and collectively.
“I think we’ve grown. You go into the window, and when you come out of it, you want to be stronger than you were at the start. I’m convinced we are that,” Carrick said.
“Transfer windows are never straightforward, and this one in particular has been challenging for different reasons. There’s a lot of money being spent around the league, but I think we’ve made the most of the situation we found ourselves in.”
United strengthened their squad with additions, including midfielders Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos, and Youri Tielemans, giving Carrick more options in the middle of the pitch.
The manager acknowledged that some clubs will always spend more, but insisted that United must focus on maximising their resources.
“Teams at certain points are going to spend a lot of money. Sometimes it’s going to be more than what we spend, sometimes maybe not. We’ve got to make the most of what we can,” he added.
While some supporters believe United needed further reinforcements, particularly at left-back and striker, Carrick remains confident in his squad and expects improvement.
The pressure now shifts to results, with Carrick tasked with turning a strengthened squad into a Manchester United side capable of competing at the highest level.
