EC sets date for Dokolo Woman MP By-election

The District Woman Representative seat for Dokolo became vacant following the death of the former Representative (MP), the Hon. Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal, which occurred on January 18, 2024.

The Electoral Commission has released the programme for conducting the by-election of District Woman Representative and councilors in electoral areas in Dokolo district where vacancies exist.

The District Woman Representative seat for Dokolo became vacant following the death of the former Representative (MP), the Hon. Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal, which occurred on January 18, 2024.

The by–election programme will commence with an update of the National Voters’ Register for District from Monday, February 12, to Thursday February 15, 2024 at update stations in each of the seventy-one (71) parishes/wards in Dokolo District.

The display of the Voters’ Register will be conducted for a period of ten (10) days, that is, from Wednesday, February 21 to Friday, March 1, 2024 18th August 2023 at all the polling stations in Dokolo District.

The Display of Parish Tribunal Recommendations for deletion from/or inclusion on the Voters Register will be conducted for six (6) days, that is, from Friday March 1 to Wednesday 6,2024 at the respective Parish/Ward Headquarters.

The nomination of candidates will be conducted on Monday March 11 and Tuesday March 12.

Nominated candidates will conduct campaign meetings for seven (7) days, that is, from Wednesday, March 13 to Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

The polling for special interest groups; Male councilor for older persons, Batta subcounty, Male Youth Councillor for Bata town council and male councilor for older persons-Kwera subcoounty will be conducted on March 18, 2024.

On the other hand, polling for District Women Representative, subcounty councilor for Adagmon Parish, Woman councilor for Agoga parish-Kwera subcounty and subcounty councilor-Apenyang parish will be conducted on March 21, 2024.
