Father Of 50 Years Arrested In Bugiri District For Defiling Own Baby Of 5 Months

On reaching home, Nabirye found the baby injured and bleeding from her private parts prompting her to rush to Bugiri General Hospital where they confirmed that the minor had been defiled.

The Bugiri District Central Police Station have in custody Shafiq Nabongo who is a resident of Nabirere Village, lwembe Sub County, Bugiri District for allegedly defiling a five-month-old biological daughter.

It’s said that Nabongo was left home together with another minor to take care of the baby while the mother, Amina Nabirye was fetching water at the nearby water source.

Speaking to Charmar News, Nabirye said on her way from the water source, the minor whom she had left home with a baby together with the father came running and told her that the baby is very sick and needed the mother’s rescue.

On reaching home, Nabirye found the baby injured and bleeding from her private parts prompting her to rush to Bugiri General Hospital where they confirmed that the minor had been defiled.

Dwellers from Nabirere village condemned the act asking the duty bearers in the courts of law to have Nabongo brought to book and serve as an example.

Hajji Ramadhan Walugembe, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) confirmed Nabongo’s arrest. “We have arrested Nabongo over alleged defilement case and is waiting to answer charges in courts of law,” he said.

He, however, said the minor was admitted to Bugiri General Hospital to receive treatment as investigations go no.
