FUFA boosts UPL clubs with 540 Zakayo balls worth UGX 60 million
The balls were handed over by FUFA Executive Committee Member Deo Mutabazi, as part of FUFA’s Strategic Plan to enhance club development and provide necessary resources for competitions
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has strengthened its support to Uganda Premier League (UPL) clubs by providing 540 official competition balls ahead of the 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
Each of the 18 UPL clubs received 30 Zakayo match balls, valued at UGX 60 million, in a move aimed at improving football standards and supporting clubs with essential sports equipment.
The balls were handed over by FUFA Executive Committee Member Deo Mutabazi, as part of FUFA’s Strategic Plan to enhance club development and provide necessary resources for competitions
In addition, FUFA Deputy CEO Sheba Ampaire Ronah handed over Zakayo balls to Uganda Deaf Football Association (UDFA) Vice President Jim Maurice at FUFA House.
The equipment will support the 2026 National Deaf Football Championship scheduled for August 26–29 in Kampala. The tournament, hosted by Sun City Deaf Football Club, will bring together regional deaf football teams as part of efforts to promote inclusion and expand football participation among different groups.
FUFA says the initiative reflects its commitment to developing football at all levels and ensuring that every category of players has opportunities to compete and grow.
