FUFA super ladies, the UCC team joined Rwenzori Marathon Spirit in Kasese

The FUFA Super Ladies represented the federation with determination as Deputy CEO Sheba Ampaire Ronah, Events Manager Leilah Nankya, and Brands Manager Phidaus Nakawesi successfully completed their 10km races

The 2026 Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon in Kasese attracted a strong show of participation and support, with members of the FUFA and Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) teams joining thousands of runners to celebrate sport, tourism, and community connection.

The FUFA Super Ladies represented the federation with determination as Deputy CEO Sheba Ampaire Ronah, Events Manager Leilah Nankya, and Brands Manager Phidaus Nakawesi successfully completed their 10km races.

FUFA congratulated the three officials for their achievement, praising their commitment to promoting fitness and supporting major sporting events in Uganda.

Meanwhile, UCC participated in the marathon with more than 70 members of its community taking part in the race. The commission highlighted the role of reliable communication networks in connecting communities and sharing Uganda’s sporting events with a wider audience.

“Today, our connection is human: runner to runner, community to community,” UCC said, emphasizing the importance of technology and communication in supporting national events.

The marathon also provided a platform to showcase the beauty of the Rwenzori region, promote tourism, and bring together athletes, visitors, and local communities.

With their stall set up and ready for visitors, FUFA and UCC joined other partners in creating an exciting atmosphere as Kasese hosted the annual mountain marathon.

The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon continues to grow as one of Uganda’s major sporting and tourism events, attracting participants from across the country and beyond.
