Gender Minister Betty Amongi In Apac District For Parish Development Model Sensitization

While the government is ready to roll out the much-hyped Parish Development Model, there seems to be confusion among the people who are supposed to implement the program and the beneficiaries.
The lack of factual information on the ground jeopardizes the programme’s implementation. And to ensure that the programmes take off on a good note, the Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Amongi Betty Ongom has kicked off nationwide sensitization.
Currently, the gender and labour minister spent the day in Apac district conducting a sensitisation session on the Parish Development Model. She is addressing concerns that government programmes are not reaching the grassroots.
“Focus of implementation and provision of funds for wealth creation is now at the parish, a convergence point for villages. Through this approach we expect to strengthen the fight to end poverty.” the minister noted.
