HiPipo Music Awards – a grand celebration of music excellence and impact across Uganda and Africa

HiPipo, a pioneering force in African digital innovation and entertainment, is set to celebrate two monumental milestones: 20 years of its existence and the 14th consecutive edition of its prestigious HiPipo Music Awards (HMA).
The organizing committee recently announced exciting new developments for the upcoming gala, scheduled for November 14th, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The 2025 HiPipo Music Awards will, once again, convene, recognize, and award Africa’s best in the music industry. However, this year’s celebration carries added significance with the introduction of two groundbreaking special recognition categories aimed at acknowledging the broader ecosystem that fuels the music scene.
In a move to honor the vital contributions of those who promote and amplify musical talent, HiPipo will award Media Personality of the Year (Radio and TV) and Influencer of the Year.
These categories have been specifically introduced to recognize the significant impact mainstream media personalities and social media influencers have in propelling artists and their music to wider audiences.
Adding to the excitement, winners of these two newly introduced special categories, in a distinct and unprecedented way, will each receive a plot of land. This remarkable prize will also be extended to the winner of the highly coveted Breakthrough Artiste of the Year award, underscoring HiPipo’s commitment to empowering and investing in talent and its key promoters.

Eligibility for nominations focuses on songs released within the past year. The nomination window is currently open and will run until September 22nd. Following this, the official nominees across all categories will be unveiled. Public voting will then commence, running until the awards night on November 14th, 2025, when the emerging winners will be announced and celebrated in a night of glitz and glamour.
