Kasaija releases UGX 259 Billion to PDM SACCOs
First tranche of FY 2025/26 to reach all 10,589 verified SACCOs starting tomorrow

Finance Minister Matia Kasaija on Tuesday morning announced the release of the first tranche of UGX 259 billion for the capitalisation of Parish Development Model (PDM) SACCOs for the 2025/26 financial year.
Beginning tomorrow, all 10,589 verified PDM SACCOs will each receive UGX 50 million directly into their accounts—marking the first of two scheduled disbursements for the year. In line with PDM policy, government releases funds in two tranches of UGX 50 million every six months to each SACCO.
“The Parish Development Model is no longer a theory. It is a reality. It is in your parishes. It is in your households. PDM is growing bigger, stronger and more impactful,” Kasaija said during the funds release at the Ministry of Finance headquarters in Kampala.
According to the Ministry, government has so far transferred UGX 3.216 trillion directly to all 10,589 parishes across the country. Every parish has now received a minimum of UGX 300 million, and 99% of these funds have been disbursed to 3.27 million Ugandans, reflecting the widest reach of the programme since its inception.
The latest release is expected to further accelerate household income growth and deepen community-level economic transformation under the Parish Development Model.
