Kinyara Sugar Limited has renewed its sponsorship partnership with Kitara Football Club for another two years in a deal worth UGX300 million, reinforcing its commitment to sports development and brand visibility in Uganda’s growing football industry.

The renewed agreement, signed at Kinyara Sugar’s headquarters in Masindi on Wednesday, extends a partnership that was due to expire in October.

The early renewal reflects the company’s confidence in Kitara FC’s recent achievements and its ambitions on the continental stage.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Kinyara Sugar Chief Executive Officer Ramalingam Ravi said the club’s impressive performance and growing influence in Ugandan football made the decision to renew the partnership an easy one.

“From the management side, we appreciate Kitara Football Club for their continuous, victorious excellence in Ugandan football,” Ravi said.

“We are proud to be a key sponsor, and we congratulate the club and the entire team.”

He said the company is pleased to continue supporting the club as it seeks to build on its recent success.

“We are also happy to announce that we are extending our engagement to continue this journey with Kitara Football Club. I want to congratulate the management for lifting and transforming the image and standard of football across the Bunyoro community. That is what we are most proud of, and we wish them a great season ahead,” Ravi added.

Partnership Built on Success

Kitara FC Chief Executive Officer Joshua Atugonza welcomed the renewal, describing it as a vote of confidence in the club’s vision and long-term development strategy.

“Today we’ve witnessed yet another huge occasion,” Atugonza said.

“We are here at the Kinyara Sugar Limited headquarters to renew our partnership, and we appreciate the financial support Kinyara has given us over the years. We don’t take it for granted.”

The sponsorship extension comes after a successful two-year collaboration during which Kinyara Sugar’s branding featured prominently on Kitara FC’s training and matchday jerseys.

The club enjoyed one of its most successful seasons by winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup, earning qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup, where it will make its continental debut in September.

Atugonza said the renewed sponsorship would play a crucial role in supporting the club’s preparations for regional competition.

“This is why they have trusted us with another two-year deal. I want to thank the management of Kinyara Sugar Limited for continuing to trust us with their logo. We promise to carry it high now that we are heading into continental football. This brand will travel beyond Uganda’s borders,” he said.

Strategic Brand Investment

For Kinyara Sugar, the partnership offers a strategic marketing platform at a time when football continues to attract growing audiences across Uganda and the East African region.

Under the agreement, the company’s brand will receive visibility across the Uganda Premier League, the CAF Confederation Cup and the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The sponsorship package also includes branding rights at Kitara FC home matches, joint media engagements and expanded fan activation campaigns across the Bunyoro sub-region.

The renewed partnership underscores the increasing role of corporate sponsorship in strengthening Ugandan football while providing companies with opportunities to deepen brand engagement through sport.

As Kitara FC prepares for the 2026/27 season and its historic continental campaign, the extended partnership positions both the club and Kinyara Sugar to benefit from greater visibility, stronger community engagement and continued growth on and off the pitch.
