Mubajje was speaking at a meeting with officials from the President’s Office led by Hajjat Hadijjah Namyalo

The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Ramathan Mubajje, has urged the government not to neglect Muslims in the allocation of jobs in its institutions as it has caused many government programs to fail due to Muslims being left behind.

Mubajje was speaking to journalists after meeting Hajjat Hadijah Uzeiye, the head of Office of the National Chairman (ONC) in Kampala.

“In an effort to further establish coordination between the Islamic leaders in the country, the Office of the President has been establishing a dialogue with our leaders at different regions,” said Mubajje.

“We want the government to think more about Muslims by providing jobs and scholarships to our children as it does for other students in different religions,” he stated.

He said many government programs have failed due to neglecting Muslim leaders to directly contribute their efforts to these programs.

Uzeiye said they will look into the complaints of Muslims to ensure that they are guided so that they can move together.

Uzeiye said they are currently starting to meet with religious leaders to further strengthen how they can u work together to resolve the conflict.

She then handed over the food items to the Mufti to distribute to the people during the month of Ramadan.
