Members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Transformer Cadres Association Uganda have called upon Ugandans to embrace and contribute in the making of new constitutional reforms that were proposed by the Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Nobert Mao.
Earlier on, Hon. Norbert Mao pledged among others to set up constitutional and transitional justice review commissions and initiating dialogue among divergent political players among other reforms.
This morning, the leadership of the NRM Transformer Cadres Association Uganda led by their President Felix Ongwech Adupa urged Ugandans to embrace the new measures by submitting their proposals and participating in the dialogue for a better country.
Among the constitutional amendments proposed by the Transformer Cadres include the restoration of Presidential term limits to 2, adoption of a regional tier system of governance as opposed to a federal system, introducing parliamentary governance system among others.
On the proposed reconciliation forum, Adupa says that this one should go down to address the challenges of the common man as opposed to the Inter- Party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD).
Meanwhile, they requested the appointing Authority to consider retiring Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba from the UPDF to pave way for him to join active politics.
