Rabadaba, real name Faisal Seguya, is the son of Adam Seguya. He was born in Mulago, Kampala. Upon reaching school going age, Rabadaba went to Buganda Road Primary School, Kampala Parents and Lohanna Academy for primary education.
After P.7, he joined Greenhill Academy, St. Lawrence, Mengo S. S., Aga Khan High School, Buziga Islamic S.S. and returned to Greenhill to complete A-level.
After completing his bachelor’s degree at Makerere University, he kickstarted his music journey. His career started with a group of four named Spontaneous: Gatimo, Grace Nakimera and Paragon before it folded in 2008.
Gatimo & Paragon released a song with Nakimera titled ‘Ani Akumanyi’ which they released before she went solo and dropped her breakthrough song ‘Anfukula’.
Rabadaba said he left the group because members were not focused on music, as they were pursuing other projects.
Before breaking through, Rabadaba once worked as a photographer and videographer with a relative’s events company.
Among the people who convinced Rabadaba to quit Spontaneous was Swangz Avenue co-founder Benon Mugumbya who produced his first single ‘Sirubala’. The song was released in 2010 and that year he was named best reggae artiste.
He credits Vampos for his initial success. At the time, Vampos was Benon’s singing partner. He said both were crucial to his early success.
