Standard Chartered named Formula 1’s official banking partner

Formula 1 is currently one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with a rapidly expanding and more diverse fan base. Fourty three percent of its audience is under the age of 35, while fourty two percent are female.

Standard Chartered has announced a landmark multi-year partnership with Formula 1, becoming the sport’s Official Wealth Management Partner and Official Corporate and Investment Banking Partner starting from the 2026 season.

The partnership brings together two globally connected organisations united by a shared focus on performance, innovation and international reach. Formula 1 is currently one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with a rapidly expanding and more diverse fan base. Fourty three percent of its audience is under the age of 35, while fourty two percent are female.

The collaboration aligns closely with Standard Chartered’s global footprint. The bank operates in 19 of the 21 countries that host Formula 1 races, mirroring F1’s presence across some of the world’s most dynamic markets.

As part of the deal, Standard Chartered branding will feature prominently on trackside signage at Formula 1 events, while the bank’s clients will gain access to a range of exclusive experiences linked to the sport.

Beyond commercial visibility, the partnership will also focus on shared values, particularly around inclusion and opportunity. Standard Chartered will work alongside Formula 1 to support the F1 Academy, an initiative dedicated to promoting and developing female participation in motorsport.

Roberto Hoornweg, Chief Executive Officer for Corporate & Investment Banking at Standard Chartered, said the partnership reflects a strong strategic fit between the two organisations.

“We’re proud to become an Official Partner to Formula 1, which shares our relentless commitment to high performance, innovation and distinctive global connectivity. Formula 1’s footprint closely reflects our own cross-border network, with a presence in 19 out of 21 race markets,” Hoornweg said.

Judy Hsu, CEO of Wealth & Retail Banking at Standard Chartered, said the collaboration would bring clients closer to the sport.

“This partnership will unlock exclusive experiences for our clients, who value premium service, innovation and seamless global connectivity. Our support for F1 Academy reinforces our commitment to championing female talent and developing the next generation of motorsport professionals,” she said.

Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali welcomed the bank to the sport, describing Standard Chartered as a natural partner.

“We are both truly global organisations, sharing a desire to drive performance and create experiences that excite people and bring them together. With Standard Chartered’s support for F1 Academy, I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together,” Domenicali said.

The partnership takes effect from the 2026 Formula 1 season and is expected to deepen engagement between global motorsport audiences and international financial services.
