Three people and a vehicle get trapped under rubble

At least 3 people and a vehicle, an Isuzu Elf, Saturday evening to trapped under rubble, after part of a stone quarry collapsed in Namulanda Nganjo cell, Kajansi Town Council in Wakiso district.
According to police, the vehicle was loading crushed stones when the incident happened on Saturday at about 6:30 pm. The Police Fire and Rescue Services arrived at the scene to help recovery those believed to be trapped.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Oweyisigire said he would give more details as soon as possible.
Quite similarly, the territorial police at Old Kampala are investigating an incident where soil collapsed on two workers who were excavating a construction site.
The incident happened Saturday at about 9am at a construction site at Mbiro Zone, Kafumbe-Mukasa Kisenyi II, Central Division in Kampala City.
The two victims were rescued and rushed to Doctors Clinic, Mengo, where one only identified as Kato succumbed to the injuries.
On July 16, 2021, a storage building at Kabulengwa in Nansana Municipality collapsed, killing its owner. Earlier, on March 16, 2021, two bodies were pulled out of the debris of the Fido Dido building on Kampala Road.
In addition, six people died on the spot after a building collapsed in Kansanga, Makindye Division whereas on January 9, 2020, Six days later, three people perished after a two-storage building located on Plot 17 Gokhale Road caved in.
