Uganda driver licensing system set for temporary shutdown

Uganda Driver Licensing System (UDLS) is to have a temporary shutdown of its operations due to a system upgrade.

According to a statement released by Bageya Waiswa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport, the UDLS informed the general public that they will be having a system upgrade from Friday 25 November to Saturday 26 November 2022.

“As such, the Uganda Driver Licensing System regional offices in Jinja, Gulu, Mbarara, Mbale, Fort Portal and Arua will be closed from 1 pm on Friday and on Saturday at all the offices including Kampala to allow this activity to take place,” he said.

According to his statement, operations at all offices will resume on Monday 28 November 2022.

The Uganda Driver Licensing System is a project by the Ministry of Works and Transport to license drivers and improve safety on the country’s roads. It produces and issues secure world-class computerized driving licenses.
