KAMPALA, Uganda — Senior UPDF officers have toured major real estate and road construction projects undertaken by Wazalendo Investment Limited as part of efforts to enhance coordination and gain a deeper understanding of the company’s investment portfolio.
The delegation, comprising Service Directors, Division Intelligence Officers, and Brigade Intelligence Officers, was guided through various projects by Wazalendo investment limited Managing Director, Lt Col Wesley Aine.
The officers visited several real estate developments, including the Namayiba Road Estate in Mukono District, a 54-acre project offering 50×100-foot plots at Shs17 million for Wazalendo SACCO members and Shs19 million for non-members.
They also toured the Bujuuko-Bulamu Estate along Mityana Road, where plots are available at Shs9.5 million for SACCO members and Shs11 million for the general public, as well as the Matugga-Kavule Estate located about 33 kilometres from Kampala.
The Matugga-Kavule development is being implemented in three phases covering 12.6 acres, 30 acres, and 57.4 acres respectively.
The officers further inspected road construction works being undertaken by the company, including the 0.6-kilometre Lubowa-Makindye Sabagabo-Nakayenga Road, the 0.8-kilometre Lugoba Cell Road in Nabweru, Nansana Municipality, which has already been tarmacked, and the 1.6-kilometre Kazo Link Road.
Lt Col Aine said Wazalendo Investment Limited has the technical capacity to undertake larger infrastructure projects, including highway construction, but would expand gradually.
“We have the capacity even to construct highways, but we need to progress gradually,” Aine said.
The visiting officers praised Wazalendo Investment Limited and Wazalendo SACCO for investing in projects that generate income for the cooperative while contributing to national development through improved infrastructure and affordable land access.
Wazalendo Investment Limited has expanded its operations into real estate development and road construction, offering serviced plots to SACCO members and the public while also providing road construction services using its own equipment available for hire.
