The countdown to the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 has taken a significant leap forward with the Confédération Africain de Football (CAF) concluding a highly successful 8-day inspection tour of host venues across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Set to ignite East Africa from 2 to 30 August 2025, the tournament promises to be a spectacular celebration of African football, and the recent inspections affirm the region’s burgeoning readiness.
The comprehensive mission, led by CAF’s various functional leads from key departments including Competitions, Marketing, Media, Broadcast, Safety & Security, and Infrastructure, worked hand-in-hand with their Local Organising Committee (LOC) counterparts in each of the three host nations. This collaborative approach underscored a shared commitment to delivering a world-class event.
The rigorous inspection schedule kicked off on Thursday, 3 July, in Nairobi, Kenya, where the CAF delegation conducted final evaluations of two pivotal venues: the iconic Kasarani Stadium, earmarked to host the highly anticipated Final, and the Nyayo International Stadium. The meticulous assessments ensured that all infrastructural and operational aspects align with international standards.
The tour then proceeded to Tanzania, beginning with a visit to the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, a crucial addition to the tournament’s diverse geographical footprint. Following this, the delegation moved to Dar Es Salaam to inspect the magnificent Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which is set to stage the prestigious Opening Ceremony, promising an unforgettable start to the competition.
