Luuka Lukiiko endorses Enkaana Development Initiative as official development arm of Luuka monarchy

The Luuka Lukiiko has officially endorsed the Enkaana Development Initiative (EDI) to serve as the development arm of the Obwa Tabingwa Bwa Luuka, marking a significant step towards advancing socio-economic transformation within the Luuka monarchy.

The endorsement was made during a Lukiiko sitting held on July 4, 2026, under the leadership of the Speaker of the Luuka Lukiiko, Dr. Emmanuel Mugunga.

The decision gives Enkaana Development Initiative the mandate to spearhead community development programmes aimed at improving livelihoods across the Luuka monarchy.

The organisation’s vision is to build dignified and self-reliant communities through sustainable development initiatives.

The Luuka monarchy is headed by His Royal Highness Omukama Willington Nabwana Inyensiko IV, who has consistently championed initiatives that promote the welfare and development of his subjects.

Several senior officials of the monarchy attended the historic session, including Katukiiro Iwek. David Igulu Lwiigo, Isabalangira Eng. George Inyensiko, and Prince Ibanda, the Principal Private Secretary to the Obwa Tabingwa Bwa Luuka.

The Enkaana Development Initiative delegation was led by its Chief Executive Officer Muzira Mark. Other officials present included Vice Chairperson Badhebye Isaac, Programmes Coordinator Kisubi Joel, and members of the organisation’s secretariat.

Speaking after the endorsement, EDI officials welcomed the confidence placed in the organisation by the Luuka Lukiiko and pledged to work closely with the monarchy, local leaders and development partners to implement programmes that improve household incomes, promote social welfare and strengthen community resilience.

The endorsement is expected to provide a structured platform for coordinating development projects under the Luuka monarchy, with a focus on empowering communities through sustainable initiatives aligned with the kingdom’s development aspirations.

Leaders expressed optimism that the partnership between the monarchy and Enkaana Development Initiative will accelerate socio-economic development and enhance the well-being of people across the Luuka monarchy.
