National  Unity  Platform marks Six years since launch, celebrates resilience and struggle

The National Unity Platform (NUP) has marked six years since its unveiling as the political wing of the People Power movement, reflecting on a journey defined by challenges, sacrifices and political milestones.

In a statement, NUP leaders said the party has endured criticism, repression and attempts to undermine its growth since its formation, but has remained committed to advocating for citizens’ rights and dignity.

The party honoured its supporters and members who have faced detention, torture and loss of life, saying their sacrifices remain central to its struggle for change.

NUP thanked its leadership, diaspora chapters and grassroots supporters for their continued commitment, while urging Ugandans to remain hopeful and united.

The party described the anniversary as a reminder of its resilience and pledged to continue pursuing its political mission.
