Tourism Minister tours Murchison Falls, highlights Uganda’s safety and attraction 

The Minister of State for Tourism, Hon. Susan Nsambu Nakawuki, has visited Murchison Falls National Park and Ajai Wildlife Reserve in a familiarisation tour aimed at promoting Uganda’s tourism potential.

The tour, hosted by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), allowed the Minister to experience some of the unique attractions offered by the protected areas, including a hike to the spectacular Uhuru and Murchison Falls, a boat cruise along the River Nile, and a game drive to view the rich wildlife.

During the visit, Nakawuki also inspected various UWA projects and initiatives, including the construction of modern accommodation facilities, community livelihood programmes, and electric fencing projects that have helped reduce human-wildlife conflicts in the area.

The Minister used the opportunity to assure both Ugandans and international visitors that Uganda remains a safe tourism destination, noting that the country has recorded zero Ebola cases.

She encouraged tourists to explore Uganda’s diverse attractions, saying the country is open and ready to offer visitors memorable experiences.
