Omonding vows to push father’s agenda after Serere win

Speaking to journalist after being announced winner, Omonding said he will pursue the things his father had started working.

The Serere district Returning Officer, Cheptegei Nangendo Slyvia, Thursday night announced Omoding Emmanuel as the winner of the Serere County by-elections.

Emmanuel Omoding polled 15,638 votes while his competitors include FDC’s Emmanuel Eratu polled 1,252 votes, ANT’s Alice Alaso polled 3,335 votes, IND candidate Martine Onguruco polled 2,523 votes and NRM’s Philip Oucor polled 13,206 votes.

The Serere County parliamentary seat fell vacant last year in October after Omonding’s father died in a car accident to force this by-election. Omonding has now replaced his father.

Speaking to journalists after being announced winner, Omonding said he will pursue the things his father had started working on.

“We shall continue to work on the projects that papa started,” Omonding said; adding: “I see myself working with all people,”

He also said that he will work with other candidates so as to develop Serere and make it a better place for all as they too have great ideas.
