The Uganda embassy in Germany is in receipt of six containers and one truck with medical supplies for medical camps to be held throughout the country.
Uganda’s Ambassador to Germany, Amb Stephen Mubiru flagged off the consignment to Kampala, Uganda’s capital.
The equipment was donated by Hanfred Spirgatis, the CEO of Bazungu e.V. a German Non-Government Organization.
Spirgatis closely worked with the Ministry of Health and the Office of the President in Uganda to provide medical assistance to persons with eye sight related complications.
The function was attended by officials from the Uganda Embassy in Holtwich Rosendahl Kreis Coesfeld, a town at the border of Germany and Netherlands. These included the Deputy Head of Mission, Amb Danny Ssozi and First Secretary, Anne Mary Nyakato.
The donation was coordinated by Prince Edward Kimbugwe of the Prince Kimbugwe Foundation in Uganda.
This is not the first time that Bazungu e.V has donated to Uganda. It runs an eye care centre in Kayunga district in central Uganda. It has also donated eye care equipment to Luwero district, also in central Uganda.
