How to check for 2023 PLE results through SMS

PLE was conducted on November 8 and 9, 2023 with a total of 749,254 pupils from 15,859 centres registered compared to 832,654 in 2022.

Education Minister Janet Museveni and the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) have unveiled the 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations  results at State House, Nakasero.

PLE was conducted on November 8 and 9, 2023 with a total of 749,254 pupils from 15,859 centres registered compared to 832,654 in 2022. Of this number, 501,602(66.9%) from 11,365 centres were UPE beneficiaries and 247,652(33%) of the pupils were non UPE.

This marks the initial batch of exams results made public by the authorities.

UNEB has conveyed parents, candidates and other interested parties to use the Short Messaging Service (SMS) on mobile networks which will post results of candidates on their mobile sets instantly.

How to check results on Phone?

You can get the 2023 PLE Results for any candidate in a few simple steps.

In your message box, type PLE <space> INDEX NUMBER and send it to 6600.

For example, to check the results of the candidate with index number 654321/001, in your message box, type PLE 654321/001 and send to 6600.

Each SMS sent to 6600 is charged UGX. 500 on both Airtel and MTN networks, therefore, users must ensure that they have enough credit on their phones.

For School administrations, UNEB officials explained that results will be uploaded on the examination centre portals to enable schools to download the results as they are officially released.

Collection of results

UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo has revealed that results will be uploaded on the examination centre portals.

“Each school can therefore download their results as soon as they are officially released. However, the District, Municipal and City inspectors of schools may collect hard copies of the results from UNEB offices at NtInda from Monday January 29,2024,” he said.

He also stated that no copies of results are available as of now.
