Police In Mukono Arrest 10 Suspects After Spate Of Robberies
Recently, the Director of Operations, AIGP Edward Ochom and Kampala Metropolitan police Commander SCP Steven Tanui led a team of officers to Mukono Municipality for a community engagement on the rising spate of crime.
The Joint Security task teams from Kampala Metropolitan Police, the Flying Squad, Mokono Police and Uganda People’s Defense Force have arrested 10 notorious suspects who form part of the criminal network behind a series of robberies in Mukono district, CP Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson said.
The suspects arrested include Nduga Reagan, Kalyango John, Mugalu William, Mbogo Sam, Kirumira Nathan, Ssenkubuwa Isma, Kizito Eria, Kinagodawa Asuman, Katende Umar and Golola.
Also recovered in the operations is an assortment of exhibits which include two motor vehicles under registration numbers UAD728Y and UAZ283Y, five motorcycles under registration numbers UDX490K, UDE876T, UEQ532Z, UFP443P, UEJ033R, one PSO gun, nine pangas, housebreaking implements and several suspected stolen properties.
Meanwhile, the Territorial Police in KMP, Nsangi and Luwero is actively investigating the contents of two audio recordings of illegal roadblocks by armed personnel.
The thugs stage fake roadblocks and intercept motorists and rob clean.
