Uganda set for 2022 All Africa Women’s Golf Trophy

Anne Abeja, president of Uganda Ladies Golf Union, said she is confident the team will perform well in the 24-team event.

Uganda’s women’s golf national team is set for the 2022 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) slated for September 4-13 at the Gymkhana Club in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Irene Nakalembe, Uganda’s team coach, told Xinhua on Saturday that the team is well prepared for the event which will bring together several top players from the African continent.

“We have trained well and I believe our team will have a point to prove against some of Africa’s top golfers,” said Nakalembe.

Anne Abeja, president of Uganda Ladies Golf Union, said she is confident the team will perform well in the 24-team event.

“We have an experienced team that will carry the flag high,” said Abeja.

The All Africa Challenge Trophy is a biennial continental women’s golf championship in Africa that had its inaugural edition held in May 1992.
